It’s time for the Philadelphia 76ers to play Marreese Speights more

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Steppin Up by alleyoop on Tuesday 29 December 2009 at 2:42 pm

It’s time for the Sixers to start playing F/C Marreese Speights more taking time away from Elton Brand and Samuel Dalembert. Speights has played in 16 games (0 starts) for the 76ers this season and he is averaging 22.9 minutes, 13.3 points, 6.1 rebounds and 0.6 assists per game. The 76ers need to start getting their younger players on the floor with the team looking like a lost cause right now. Speights has the talent to be a high impact player and it’s time for the Sixers to give him the time to show exactly what he can do.

Thaddeus Young is playing well this year for the Philadelphia 76ers

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Steppin Up by alleyoop on Tuesday 15 December 2009 at 12:33 pm

Thaddeus Young is playing well for the Sixers despite the team stinking it up so far this year. Young has played in 24 games (all starts) for the Sixers this season and he is averaging 37.6 minutes, 16.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.2 steals per game. Getting Allen Iverson will likely bump Young down the the #3 option on the offense so if he could hit the boards a little harder it would help the team.

Lou Williams is playing well for the Philadelphia 76ers

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Steppin Up by alleyoop on Tuesday 10 November 2009 at 9:43 am

Lou Williams has played pretty well this season for the 76ers. He has played in 7 games (all starts) for the Sixers this season and he is averaging 34.4 minutes, 15.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.6 steals per game. Williams is not the pass first point guard that Andre Miller was but he is a better guy at getting his own shot off.

Marreese Speights has been outstanding so far this season for the Philadelphia 76ers

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Steppin Up by alleyoop on Tuesday 3 November 2009 at 10:50 pm

2nd year C/F Marreese Speights is playing great off the bench for the 76ers so far this season. He has played in 3 games (0 starts) in which he has averaged 23.0 minutes, 16.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.0 assist and 1.0 blocked shot per game. If Speights keeps playing like he is right now he will really start to cut into the minutes of starting center Samuel Dalembert. The Sixers hope that Speights keeps up the good work.

The Philadelphia 76ers are getting good work in the paint

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Steppin Up by alleyoop on Tuesday 11 December 2007 at 4:40 pm

Center Samuel Dalembert and power forward Reggie Evans are giving the Sixers solid work so far in December. Dalembert has started 6 games so far this month and he’s averaging 35.2 minutes, 9.2 points, 10.3 rebounds, 0.7 assists and 2.7 blocks per game. He also is shooting 57.1% from the floor which is excellent. Reggie Evans has also started 6 games this month and he’s providing some muscle near the hoop. In the 6 games he’s played this month he’s averaging 26.0 minutes, 7.3 points, 9.0 rebounds, 0.8 assists and 1.0 steal per game. The 76ers need the big men to keep up the good work.

Andre Iguodala is the leader of the Philadelphia 76ers

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Steppin Up by alleyoop on Friday 30 November 2007 at 6:23 pm

Andre Iguodala does it all on the basketball court for the Sixers. He has played in 14 games so far this season and he is averaging 39.3 minutes, 18.4 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 1.6 steals per game. The Sixers would probably be better off if Iguodala was more selfish as they are having problems scoring points right now.

Andre Iguodala stepped up last season for the Philadelphia 76ers

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Steppin Up by alleyoop on Tuesday 29 May 2007 at 10:22 pm

Andre Iguodala has his best season ever in the NBA as he took off after the trade of Allen Iverson to the Denver Nuggets. Iguodala played in 76 games last season and he averaged 40.3 minutes, 18.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 2.0 steals per game. He also shot the ball all right as he hit 44.7% from the floor, 31% from three point range and 82% from the free throw line. Look for Iguodala to even be a better basketball player next season for the Sixers.

Iguodala’s numbers are starting to spike upwards as the Sixers are depending on him more on offense. In 240 career games, Iguodala has averaged 36.8 minutes, 13.1 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 2.0 steals per game. His shooting percentages actually went down except for free throws. Iguodala has now hit 47.5% from the floor, 33.2% from 3-point range and 78.5% from the free throw line.

A couple of players are stepping up for the Philadelphia 76ers as of late

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Steppin Up by alleyoop on Tuesday 10 April 2007 at 10:55 pm

Andre Iguodala and Samuel Dalembert are both taking their games to new levels the last couple of weeks. In his last 6 games, A.I. is averaging 20.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, 8.3 assists and 1.5 steals per game. He’s the perfect complement to point guard Andre Miller because both of them are such unselfish players which is a breath of fresh air in Philly. Dalembert has really been an enforcer in the paint in his last 6 games as he’s averaging 13.8 points, 9.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.0 block per game. He’s also hitting 59.7% from the floor in those games which is why he’s getting the basketball more.

Andre Iguodala having a good season

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Steppin Up by Nothing but Net on Thursday 8 February 2007 at 3:51 pm

Andre Iguodala has benefitted the most from the 76ers getting rid of Allen Iverson and Chris Webber because he’s getting a lot more shots. His offensive play is the best it’s ever been and his defense has stayed at a high level. The new A.I. is averaging 17.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 2.1 steals per game this season and the scoring average will probably go up in the second half as the Sixers will look to him more on offense. He’s shooting a very solid 46% from the floor and 82.8% from the free throw line which are pretty impressive percentages. The only thing he really needs to improve on is his three point shooting as he’s only hitting 28.8% of them.

Samuel Dalembert steppin’ up

Blogged under Front Page,Steppin Up by Nothing but Net on Wednesday 24 January 2007 at 12:50 am

Samuel Dalembert has benefitted the most from the addition of Andre Miller to the Sixers. In his last 8 games, Dalembert is averaging 14.6 points, 10.1 rebounds, 0.8 assists and 3.0 blocks per game. Dalembert is getting more open shots due to the great passing of Andre Miller. Look for Dalembert’s fine play to continue.
