The Philadelphia 76ers are set up well at the point for 2011-12
21-year old point guard Jrue Holiday really stepped up in his second season in the NBA and the Sixers hope that trend continues. He played in 82 games (all starts) for the 76ers last year and he averaged 35.4 minutes, 14.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game. Holiday has now played in 155 games (133 starts) in his first two years with the 76ers and he has averaged 30.1 minutes, 11.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 1.3 steals per game. He has a very, very bright future in the NBA. 24-year old Lou Williams will backup Holiday and he is instant offense off the bench. Williams played in 75 games (0 starts) for the Sixers last year and he averaged 23.3 minutes, 13.7 points, 2.0 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game. He has now played in 391 games (38 starts) in his first six years with the Sixers and he is averaging 21.2 minutes, 10.7 points, 1.9 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game. Williams will also get minutes at shooting guard, because he’s too good of a player to nail to the bench.
