The Philadelphia 76ers have signed 35-year old center Theo Ratliff to a 1-year, $1.4 million dollar contract. Ratliff is still a good rebounder and defender off of the bench. He played in 26 games (9 starts) for Minnesota and Detroit last season and he averaged 16.8 minutes, 4.3 points, 3.4 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game. Ratliff should do a good job of giving Samuel Dalembert a break in the middle for 10-15 minutes per night. Ratliff has now played in 705 games (504 starts) in his NBA career and he has averaged 27.0 minutes, 7.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, 0.6 assists and 2.6 blocks per game. This is good move for the Sixers as Ratliff should help on the bench.
