The 76ers trade little used forward Alan Henderson to the Utah Jazz

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page by Nothing but Net on Thursday 22 February 2007 at 4:57 pm

The 76ers traded reserve forward Alan Henderson to the Utah Jazz for a 2nd round pick in 2007. This was a good trade for both teams as it gives the Jazz a little bit of depth and the rebuilding Sixers another draft pick. Henderson played in 34 games for the Sixers this season and he averaged 3.5 points and 3.1 rebounds per game.

Starting power forward Steven Hunter is ready to return from his finger injury. The Sixers definately can use his size and defensive ability in the paint as he and Samuel Dalembert make a strong tandem. Hunter has played in 42 games and has averaged 19.3 minutes, 5.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game this season.

Sixers first half a disappointment

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 20 February 2007 at 1:54 pm

The 76ers first half of the season was a disappointment, but that’s only because of their record which is 17-36. That’s good for 4th place in the Atlantic Division and 12 games out of first place. A funny thing happened after the Sixers got rid of Chris Webber and Allen Iverson…..they started to play better as a team. Andre Miller has been a great addition to the Sixers as he’s very unselfish with the ball in his hands and that has led to improved play by Andre Iguodala, Samuel Dalembert, Kyle Korver and Steven Hunter. The Sixers should not trade Miller unless they get an offer that they can’t refuse, because with a strong draft next year the Sixers could make a run at the playoffs. Look for them to continue to play decent in the 2nd half of the season.

The 76ers lose 92-85 to the Wizards in Philadelphia

The Sixers only shot 38% from the floor and that did them in last night. Kyle Korver led the way for the Sixers with 18 points and 5 rebounds. Andre Iguodala had an awful shooting night as he only hit 3 of 15 from the floor. Still, he finished with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 13 assists.

The 76ers need more from Willie Green

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Need to step up by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 13 February 2007 at 9:00 pm

The 76ers have been giving Willie Green more playing time after they traded Allen Iverson and he’s not doing much with it. Green has played in 46 games this season and he’s averaging 23.9 minutes, 10.5 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. Green has been a poor shooter and that’s not good if you play shooting guard, which Green does. He’s only hit 39.5% from the floor and 65.7 from the free throw line and if that doesn’t improve Green will go back to the bench and the Sixers will give someone else a chance.
