Sixers mangled by Celtics 101-81

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Thursday 14 December 2006 at 2:45 am

The Sixers only hit 39.7% of their shots from the floor and allowed the Celtics to hit 52.1% from the floor. It’s almost impossible to win that way. The Sixers really need to get rid of Iverson soon, so they can get some help.

Kevin Ollie led the way for the Sixers with 14 points and 4 assists. Andre Iguodala had a decent all-around game with 12 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals. Chris Webber was shooting bricks all night long (4 of 17) and wound up with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Samuel Dalembert was tough around the basket with 11 points and 7 rebounds. Willie Green added 10 points and 4 rebounds.

The Sixers fell to 5-16 on the season with this loss.

Rodney Carney is looking good

Blogged under Front Page,Rookie Report by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 12 December 2006 at 7:21 pm

The Sixers have to be happy with Ridney Carney. They have moved him into the starting line-up after Iverson demanded his trade and he’s held his own. He has played in 19 games and has averaged 15.2 minutes, 4.5 points, 1.2 rebounds and 0.3 assists per game so far this season.

None of the rest of the rookies have gotten much of a chance to play. Ivan McFarlin has played the most. He has played in 9 games and has averaged 3.9 minutes, 1.6 points, 0.9 rebounds and 0.1 assists per game so far this season.

Steven Smith has only played in 5 games and has averaged 2.2 minutes and 0.4 rebounds so far this season.

Bobby Jones has only played in 4 games and has averaged 1.1 minutes, 0.3 points, 0.5 rebounds and 0.3 assists.

Carney will determine how this draft class is graded and he’s off to a good start.
